Ockendon is in the bottom left of the panel.
Looking West towards the station, with London Underground on the other side of the fence to the right.
Looking East from the box window, The Ockendon Branch going off to the right, train just arriving into the bay platform.
Low Street was located between Tilbury and Pitsea and controlled the Coryton Branch.
The old Upminster East, the new EICC centre is built right opposite on the left of this picture.
Sorry about the duplications, have now got the hang of it, this was my 2nd box Oct 79 till Dec 81, then moved on to Kings Cross PSB
Where my second career began back in Aug 78, I started as a train recorder at Hither Green in Nov 67 then after a few moves left in 72 for six years before starting back on the LT&S at Low Street for a very successful career culminating in 1992 becoming CMI at Preston until I retired in 2000 due to ill health, What a wonderful period in my life, thank you railways!
